I was bleeding out and halfway to Hell when God sent me an angel. He had no business sending her to a man like me.
She was sunshine wrapped in pink glitter - soft where I was jagged, and gentle enough to hurt. Under the sick glow of a streetlamp, I was delirious enough to tell her she was beautiful. And when she smiled and asked me to say it again, I almost believed I could be saved.
But then she asked me something else. Something that stole the air from my lungs. “Can you keep a secret?”Turns out, even angels have sins.
And this one should’ve left me to die before my world destroyed us both…
